Apple surprises us each year with new designs, new technology, always more innovation. The MacBook Pro 2021 was undoubtedly one of the most thrilling items of the year. Apple fully revamped it, added a slew of nostalgic features, and outfitted it with the company’s most powerful processor.
As a result, people’s expectations for the next generation of Apple’s Mac, such as the MacBook Air, 13-inch MacBook Pro, Mac mini, and iMac, have skyrocketed. And, of course, rumors abound on the internet. Let us discover what Apple will surprise us with next year…
MacBook Air 2022
Apple has parted ways with Intel since October 2021; following this consequential event; their Mac has become more effective and powerful. According to one of Apple’s best leakers, the new MacBook Air will be even more powerful, taking a lot of features from the MacBook Pro.
Will the M2 make a debut through the new MacBook Air? Some say that there are no big differences between the M1 and M2, but the M2 will have ten graphics cores, two more than the M1; even if it seems not much, it is a major improvement.
Apple will seemingly fully ditch the precedent Mac design for a new one with a completely new design. The new design is more like the MacBook Pro while staying thinner and lighter (remaining the ‘Air’ version).
This year, Apple has improved their FaceTime camera to 1080p which has been implemented on the 24-inch and MacBook Pros, and the MacBook Air 2022 shall improve 1080p too.
The MagSafe shall make a return on the MacBook Air 2022, too, after the MacBook Pro.
A New 27-inch iMac Pro?
On May 21, 2021, the 24-inch iMac was released. Apple’s so-called “entry-level” desktop computer is slimmer, lighter, more colorful, and far more powerful due to the M1 chipset, so don’t expect it to change dramatically in 2022.
Apple’s popular all-in-one (AIO) desktop, the iMac Pro, is expected to be released in the first half of 2022. Not only does it appear that the new iMac Pro will include the same Mini-LED display as the new MacBook Pro models and iPad Pro tablets, but it will also most likely be powered by the newly launched M1 Pro and Max CPUs.
So you may be asking what new features will be attributed to this not-yet-released iMac? The all-in-base one’s spec was earlier believed to include 16GB of system RAM and 512GB of storage, with a price starting at $2,000 (approximately £1,460, AU$2,660). However, this is simply an estimate at this time, and the official pricing is likely to be higher.
New Mac Mini?
Apple introduced two new Mac mini models with its M1 CPU more than a year ago, in November 2020. (reviewed here: M1 Mac mini-review). Starting at £699/$699, these computers have the same processing and graphics as the more costly MacBook and iMac models. The Mac mini is our favorite among Apple’s M1 Macs because we believe it offers the best combination of specifications and pricing.
Apple is rumored to be working on a new Mac mini that will be even more powerful. This device will not replace the present M1 Mac mini models, but rather the Intel-powered Mac mini model that Apple has maintained in the lineup – or so it is claimed. The date is unknown, but it is hoped to be in October 2022. The price shall be no less than 1000 dollars.
Apple has many surprises in store for 2022, Apple users shall be very excited, and unfortunately, some of us will go into debt because of these brand new products. Let us know in the comments which one of these products do you want to try the most…
