The Top 3 Smart Gadgets That Every College Student Should Have

College is one of the first times in most of our life where we get to live on our own, which means that we no longer have the safety net that was our parents. Most of us have to fend for ourselves and take student loans, and get scholarships to get ourselves through this journal.

Having said this, it is also one of those places that you will miss once you’ve graduated, and this is why you need to enjoy your college experience to the fullest. There are some things that are essential for you to own, especially if you are starting college next. So, without further ado, let’s get into the list of gadgets that all college students should have.

1. Gadget for your dorm/kitchen

Living in a dorm means you have to be smart about the things you have in there. I get bored of the cafeteria food pretty easily, which is why you might want to consider these gadgets to have in your college dorm in my books. You can use them for cooking and none of them gas to function.

Cooking inside a dorm room has never been easier than with the help of these 3 gadgets on our list. You can cook yourself a decent and cheap meal with these few gadgets. Sure, you have to invest with them, but they will be with you for all 4 years and even after college. They are:

    • Instant Pot: This is one of the least expensive things on our list and is also the most versatile cooking appliance out there. You can cook a lot of things in your instant pot, from congee to stews, rice, and even a turkey for thanksgiving.
    • Oster DuraCeramic Gribble: It is an electric griddle that allows you to prepare meals on the go, and it is also very affordable. If you live in a dorm, this will be a hit; not only does it not take a lot of places, but you can cook a lot of things on it at the same time. You can cook pancakes, eggs, or even bacon there.
    • Sandwich maker: Instead of buying an overpriced sandwich on campus, you can make your own with your trustee sandwich maker. It has several options and will fix most of your cravings.

Before you bring any of these to college, check the rules and regulations of your dorm room because some of these might be banned.

2. Bluetooth Coffee maker

If you are anything like me, then you love coffee, and you need it to function. I was broke most of the time in college, and most of the time, my meals would consist of iced coffee and ramen noodles. This is why having a smart and Bluetooth coffee maker is a must-have for me.

You are in college, so you will pull a couple of all-nighters to finish a paper that is literally due in 2 hours. Don’t worry; I’ve been there, and I know the struggle, and this is why owning a coffee machine is a must—making yourself a cup of coffee will give you the high and caffeine rush that you need to finish that paper.

The nice thing about a Bluetooth coffee machine is that you can order the machine to make you a cup of coffee before you get to your dorm, and you know that when you get there, a cup of coffee will be waiting for you. For me, this is what dreams are made of.

3. Kindle voyage

I went to college to study English literature and linguistics, which says a lot about me. I am a nerd who loves reading and languages. I love reading physical copies of books, but I also know that they are cumbersome, and not everyone loves them.

This is where the Kindle Voyage comes in handy. It removes the struggle of carrying to bring several physical books on you at all times. You have access to all your books on a single gadget with it. Buying an e-book is also way cheaper than buying a physical copy of a book and is the ecological thing to do.

You can even rent e-books from libraries thanks to your trustee Kindle Voyage. As a Kindle user, you also have access to the Lending library that allows you to rent e-books, and they have an extensive library with over 600 000 e-books.

For me investing in a Kindle is something that everyone should do, especially if you love books. It is a nice and cheap way of reading books, and all the e-books you buy will be saved in your Kindle library. It also has a nightlight function that is perfect for reading at night, and it won’t even bother your roommate.
