If you are a uni student, then choose a laptop because it’s portable, one of the cheaper computers out there and they are user friendly and will have anything you’ll need for your studies. If it’s for your company, then a desktop computer is more viable as it has an expansive range of things it can do, has a bigger storage and tends to be faster. Desktop computer v. Laptop

Advantages:
1. Portable. This one is the main advantage of owning a laptop; it is lightweight, compact in size and has a built-in battery. You can take your laptop anywhere with you and can do your work anywhere and you can access your data wherever you are. It is also very simple to use and needs no additional device to work; it has a built-in mouse, speaker, microphone, and every camera. They are also very affordable and the companion of most broken uni students; you can always spot them in a cafe working on their PC.
2. Internet access. It provides us access to the internet through WiFi and this is the greatest gift to mankind after fire. Aside from being portable, the fact that they can connect to the internet without any wires is what makes it more useful. Alongside its durable battery life, it is the perfect PC for anyone who is always on the go.
Disadvantages:
1. Sensitive. Let me ask you this, how many of you ever dropped, sat or slept on your laptop. I am guilty of it and it makes me have a mini heart attack every time because I fear that I broke it. This is harder to do with a desktop computer. All these can lead to the breakdown of your trusted companion and the repairs might sometimes be more than buying a new one.
2. Battery life. Granted, the compact battery makes the laptop portable but at times, it is more unreliable than Captain Jack Sparrow. Most users also tend to use it as a stationary computer and constantly plug it in, which worsens battery life.

Advantages:
1. High-performance. Processor chip and other components manufacturers are constantly making them more efficient and faster. With their size, the processor can be bigger, leading to computers being more efficient than their portable counterparts. With the constant advancement of technology and the market’s competitiveness, computer manufacturers are releasing higher quality processors that make for better desktop computers.
2. Upgradable. Tower computers have internal hardware that can be easily upgraded to make your PC and this may boost it to perform better. You can logistically modify anything on your desktop computer, from the RAM to its mouse.
Disadvantages:
1. Space. It is simple; with all its glory, the desktop takes a lot of space. With all its different parts, it may take a subsequent part of your workspace. Once you set it somewhere, it will be stationed there, and I don’t know many people who regularly change its space. With all the real estate that it takes, it is also straightforward to collect dirt and dusty, and it might be challenging to clean it at times.
2. Access to power. If ever there is a power outage, then you might be the one who is raging because your PC will be down for as long as it takes to get power back. Unlike a laptop, a desktop computer can’t function without electricity and may be an issue in areas that suffer regular power cuts.
